I think the debate should be whether results from later in the year should be weighted more than in the early part of the year. Of course then this give a lot more weight to the strength of one’s conference, rather than the entire schedule. Obviously the SEC and PAC-12 have great conferences this year. The ACC is right behind, with the Big 12 dragging behind. What’s seems to be especially painful for the Big 12 this year is not only have many of the teams been beset with injuries of late, their non-conference wins have not been what we have seen in the recent past. This is especially compounded by the fact they had to play each other even at the ITA/USTA National Indoors.
