txcollege10s... I agree with you about the NCAA Tennis selection show on ESPN News. It's the worst selection show of all the college sports! The ITA or NCAA should be embarrassed on such a lousy show.
Why doesn't the ITA organize their own selection show and have it on the Internet so everyone can see it. There is only about 10% of cable customers that even get ESPN News. Personally, I'm not a fan of ESPN News and is wasted air time in my opinion!

I think I have Swedish on my mind since I've been reading the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but yes, Oxford is a lot like Lillehammer.

"Hold ballen i retten, Harry"

I tried to mention the Sweet 16 match-ups some in the next-to-last paragraph. This has garnered a lot of attention, from coaches I have spoken to to Colette Lewis (zootennis.com), who writes extensively about it in her story. She does a better job, so read her....

First, with Harry Fowler being at Ole Miss, he is working on his Norwegian, not his Swedish. Can't you tell that Oxford, Mississippi, has more of a Norwegian feel to it than Swedish? :-)

Second, take a look at the round of 16 match-ups on the men's side. If the top 16 seeds make it, 6 of the 8 contests will pit two teams from the same conference against each other for the 2nd or 3rd time this year. Boring.

Virginia vs. Duke
Texas vs. Texas Tech
Ohio State vs. Illinois
Florida vs. Georgia
Baylor vs. Texas A&M
Stanford vs. UCLA

These team all just got finished playing each other in their conference tourneys, and earlier in the regular season. Someone has pointed out that switching some seeds only one position could have produced 8 match-ups that were ALL inter-conference.

As has been pointed out, Wichita State and Nebraska are too far... I was just throwing out guesses. Obviously those school will get shipped elsewhere... Wichita is 445 miles from Waco and 500 from Lubbock...

This has been a great year for Texas College Tennis, North Texas wins first trip to NCAA's, UTSA Men win Southland, TCU M/W both comeback and take the MWC. Baylor/Texas Big 12 Women Title, A&M/UT Big 12 Men, can not get much better. I also believe PV A&M won the SWAC Men.
